Well the wait is over and the transition of ownership at Poplar Grove is complete. Poplar Grove is now owned and operated by Green Leaf Golf Club of Amherst, LLC.
There was some discussion about changing the name of the club, but after some deliberation it was determined even though there have been some negative reports about Poplar Grove, there are also many positive aspects to our club. We intend to build on those positives and provide an enhanced experience for our members and guests and we will make some initial changes that facilitate this.
The bigger picture is going to take a little longer as we are still in the throws of a deep recession, though I remain confident that we can turn it around. It is going to take hard work and commitment from everyone connected with the club to bring this project to fruition.
I will be looking to stabilize the business and re-engage our homeowners and members, the most important people at Poplar Grove Golf Club, then move this property to the next level.
We will be making some improvements in the cafe in the coming weeks and will keep you updated as we complete them.
